If you want fantastic sunsets, rest, relaxation, and the restorative call of the Salish Sea, come to Frank and Pat’s Place, right on Puget Sound at the old 1905 resort of Maxwelton Beach.
This is a true Pan-Abode log cabin, each log is notched into the next without using nails a unique getaway made of old growth yellow cedar without a trace of drywall to be found. The walls carry the patina of much laughter, storytelling, shared meals and wicked board games played into the dark of night.
There are 3 bedrooms (2 queens, 1 full) with special properties that induce the kind of sleep that only a beach front cabin can provide. The bathroom with shower stall completes your beach comfort. Remember, as a cabin built in 1959 with its 60 year old custom built kitchen picnic table and benches, Frank and Pat’s Place has very casual beachy and rustic ambiance and finish. If thats for you, youve come to the right place!
The gathering spot of Frank and Pat’s Place is the open great room concept of the living room with the free standing wood stove, adjoining kitchen and eating area, with spectacular beach scape and Olympic Mountain views from all windows. Included are AM/FM CD player with Ipod docking station, TV (sorry, no cable here) with DVD player, books and board games, oven, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, and just a few steps outside your Dutch door are horseshoe pits, a pickle ball court, and propane BBQ.
The views from the wrap-around deck are stunning, western and expansive. Frank and Pat’s Place is on no-bank beach front with miles of sandy beach front available for walking, and when the tide is out, hours and miles of beach walking and play abound.
This is a nature lover’s paradise – Orca’s, gray’s and pilot whales cruise the water ways. There are frequently bald eagles on the pilings in the mornings, ospreys and king fishers diving for meals, and the sounds of hummingbirds, gulls, killdeer and great blue herons.
Note that Frank and Pat’s Place is the perfect spot for basing day kayaking expeditions or bicycle trips through the rural back roads of South Whidbey Island. Day trips are a beautiful drive away to historic Langley, Coupeville, Fort Casey, Fort Ebey, and Deception Pass State Parks.
Whether you’re looking for a safe and delightful family location to play, or a private adult getaway to kick back, life on the beach at Frank and Pat’s Place will fulfill your dreams and exceed expectations. You’ll find it hard to leave and will know you’ve truly been on vacation from your daily life.
