Selected Public Transit Routes to Whidbey and Camano Islands

  • From Sea-Tac Airport to Whidbey Island - Option 1 - Weekdays Only

    • Take light rail to the International District station.
    • Walk to the nearby King street station
    • The Seattle Sounder train service departs on weekday evenings only.
    • Disembark at the Mukilteo Station. Cross the bridge to the ferry terminal.
    • Take the ferry to Whidbey Island and the community of Clinton.
    • Island Transit has free bus routes throughout the island every day except Sunday.


  • From Sea-Tac Airport to Whidbey Island - Option 2 - All days, except for the last step

    • Take light rail to the University St. Station
    • Walk to 4th Ave. and Seneca and take Community Transit’s 512 bus to Mukilteo.
    • At Mukilteo, walk the short distance to the ferry terminal.
    • Take the ferry to Whidbey Island and the community of Clinton.
    • Island Transit has free bus routes throughout the island every day except Sunday.


  • From Sea-Tac Airport to Whidbey Island - Option 3 - Weekdays, except for the last step

    • Take light rail to the University District Station.
    • Walk to Stevens way, find a bus stop for Community Transit’s 880 bus to Mukilteo.
    • At Mukilteo, cross the street to the ferry terminal.
    • Take the ferry to Whidbey Island and the community of Clinton.
    • Island Transit has free bus routes throughout the island Monday - Saturday.


  • From Sea-Tac Airport to Camano Island - Weekdays Only

    • TakeSoundTransit's Link Light to the International District station.
    • Walk to 4th Ave. and Jackson and take Community Transit's 510/512 bus to Everett.
    • Take Skagit Transit's 90x bus to Mt. Vernon.
    • Take Island Transit  411-C bus to Terry's Corner on Camano Island on weekedays only.
    • Island Transit has free bus routes throughout the island on weekdays.


  • From Downtown Seattle - Weekdays Only

    Community Transit’s 417 bus offers direct service from downtown Seattle to the Mukilteo ferry terminal with five trips each weekday.


  • University District to Whidbey Ferry– Weekdays Only

    Community Transit’s 880 bus offers direct service from Seattle’s University District to the Mukilteo ferry with eight trips each weekday. Among the stops is the Ash Way Park and Ride and the Swamp Creek Park and Ride.


  • Lynnwood Transit Center to Whidbey Ferry – Weekdays and Saturdays

    Community Transits 113 bus offers service from the Lynnwood Transit Center and Alderwood Mall weekdays and Saturdays. Nearly 20 routes stop at the transit center.


  • Everett Transit Center – Whidbey Ferry – Weekdays and Saturdays

    Everett Transit offers service via route 18 from its transit center to the ferry terminal, where you can walk on and on weekdays catch Island Transit to many locations on Whidbey Island.


  • Everett Transit Station – Camano

    Community Transit’s bus 240, with service to Smokey Point (schedule), bus 247 with service to the Everett Boeing Plant (schedule), and bus 422 with service to downtown Seattle (schedule) offer service to the Stanwood Park and Ride, which is also served by Island Transit’s Camano Route 3C (schedule).


  • Between Mt. Vernon & Camano Island – Weekdays Only

    Island Transit operates route 411C weekdays from the Mt. Vernon Skagit Station to Terry’s Corner on Camano Island. View Island Transit’s schedule here…`


  • Mt. Vernon to Oak Harbor

    To get from Mt. Vernon to Oak Harbor, take Skagit Transit’s 411W to the March’s Point park and ride. Change buses there, and take Island Transit’s route 411W to Oak Harbor’s transit station in downtown Oak Harbor.
