Each February\, over 500 birding and nature enthusiasts visit the Stanwood Camano area to celebrate the Snow Geese and other shorebirds that have migrated to this region for years. Due to dedicated volunteers and the generous support of sponsors\, the festival has made a significant impact to our community. \n\n\n\nThe Stanwood Area Historical Society board continues to take the lead on this festival along with a community coalition and are pleased to host the 2026 Stanwood Camano Snow Goose and Birding Festival. The organizations and individuals in the community that have come forward and offered to co-host and ensure that the festival takes place include Sound Water Stewards\, Friends of Camano Island Parks and Stanwood Camano Arts Advocacy Commission. Last year the festival collected data from 390 guests and 85 volunteers. Children under 12 were admitted free and SCAAC provided art activities for them. \n\n\n\nThe festival began in 2006 and has always had a contest to select a local artist to provide artwork for the poster. This year SCAAC led a Call for Art and we have selected a winner. The artist will be showcased at the event and will sign the posters which can be sold for keepsakes. The Camano Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring our event by allowing us to share their billboard advertising on I-5 which attracted many visitors last year according to our data. Visitors come from Anacortes\, Arlington\, Bellevue\, Bellingham\, Edmonds\, Everett\, Kirkland\, Lake Stevens\, Lynnwood\, Marysville\, Mt. Vernon\, Oak Harbor\, Seattle\, Langley\, Coupeville\, Woodinville and many other towns in Western Washington\, especially for the shuttles\, bus tours and lectures.  \n\n\n\nFor additional information please click HERE URL:https://whidbeycamanoislands.com/event/snow-goose-and-birding-festival/ LOCATION:Floyd Norgaard Cultural Center\, 27130 102nd Ave NW\, Stanwood\, WA\, 98292\, United States CATEGORIES:Annual Events,Camano-Stanwood,Family Friendly ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/jpeg:https://whidbeycamanoislands.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/SnowGoosePoster2026-e1789162409599.jpg GEO:48.2430603;-122.3708402 X-APPLE-STRUCTURED-LOCATION;VALUE=URI;X-ADDRESS=Floyd Norgaard Cultural Center 27130 102nd Ave NW Stanwood WA 98292 United States;X-APPLE-RADIUS=500;X-TITLE=27130 102nd Ave NW:geo:-122.3708402,48.2430603 END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART;TZID=America/Los_Angeles:20260228T130000 DTEND;TZID=America/Los_Angeles:20260228T143000 DTSTAMP:20260803T194043Z CREATED:20260219T232254Z LAST-MODIFIED:20260803T194043Z UID:10028900-1772283600-1772289000@whidbeycamanoislands.com SUMMARY:Meerkerk Garden Tours DESCRIPTION:Meerkerk Garden Tours | Thru October 17th\n\n\n\nOne of the best ways to experience the gardens is on one of our docent-led tours offered from early spring into mid-autumn. \n\n\n\nCome learn about the plants and unique features of the garden.
