Ranger Talk-Salmon Habitat and Restoration
July 6 @ 10:00 am – 11:00 am
Sound Water Stewards Summer Educational Series: “Baby Salmon Live Here”!
Join us at Camano Island State Park for an engaging ranger talk and participate in activities focused on our local waterways and the salmon that need our help.
Discover the local salmon habitat, the best times and places to view salmon, and get updates on restoration projects in the Stanwood/Camano area. We will highlight a few places on the island where real salmon science is taking place.
• When: 10:00 – 11:00 am
• Where: Camano Island State Park near the boat ramp
Sound Water Stewards will have microscopes set up for viewing the tiniest food source for baby salmon (plankton). Our Sound Toxins team will be present to discuss the health of our local water, how plankton plays a role, and how these microscopic organisms connect to baby salmon during their life cycle.
