Class: Flower DIY Art Class

July 6, 2024 @ 5:00 pm – 7:30 pm

Collage of various paper flowers.

Come join us at Fire of the Heart Gallery for this fun and creative flower making class. The gallery is located at the historic Greenbank Farm on Whidbey Island. This unique destination is a day trip from Seattle, yet it feels a world away from the busy hustle-bustle of the city. If you aren’t located on the island or north of the island, you will take a ferry to get here. The class is held at the gallery after hours. Come, make a paper flower, sip bubbly water and snack on light refreshments while surrounded by beautiful artwork.

In this class you will create a bold and beautiful flower with a leaf for a glass vase that’s included in your experience. Using premium Italian crepe paper, your instructor will walk you through each detailed step in the process of making your finished flower sculpture. The paper you will use is easy to cut with scissors, it’s sturdy, and it holds its shape beautifully. The process is incredibly forgiving, making this a fun class for beginners or more “artsy” folks too.

In this class you will learn:
· Techniques for working with premium Italian crepe paper and for composing a finished flower.
· How to create a center for your flower and how to use petal shape and design to make different looks for your flower.
· You will learn methods for finishing the underside of your flower, creating a leaf, and finishing the flower stem.

The class is 2.5 hours long

No experience is necessary

Age 12+ Years – due to the use of hot glue and a hot glue gun (Minors must be accompanied by an adult)
