Deception Pass Earth Day Service Project & Discovery

April 22, 2018 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

We’d like to invite you to our Earth Day event at Deception Pass State Park!

April 22nd is not only a FREE day in the park, but it is also Earth Day- a day in which communities get together to appreciate and give back to Mother Nature.

Often, you see service projects for Earth Day to plant new things, but removing harmful stuff, like non-native dunegrass, is just as important. And trust us, there is always a bounty of it- especially at West Beach.

On April 22nd, we will pull non-native European Beachgrass at West Beach from 1-4pm in order to help the native dune grasses thrive.

From 12-1pm, there will be a Discovery Table with mammal pelts and more for kids (and adults) to explore before the service project.

Come help the environment and learn about the importance of being a steward for the Salish Sea!

Bring work gloves, a lunch, and your passion for the planet.

For the service project, meet us at West Beach Shelter (by the bathrooms) at 12:45pm!
