Whidbey Island's Fort Casey, already scary enough in the daytime, will be visited by some seriously ghoulish types as we approach Halloween.
This very popular event sold out last year. You'll want to check back in late August to see when tickets go on sale.
Fort Casey is an old military fort on Whidbey Island. Built by solders to defend Puget Sound against invading ships, its pop-up guns (cannons, really) could rain shells down on any unfortunate vessels.
The dark powder and shell magazines are scary enough on a summer's day. Imagine what they're like on a night when ghouls are loose!
Braving the fort and its "friends" has become one of Whidbey Island's most popular Halloween events!
For the younger kids, there's a Kid Zone with a Bounce House and games.
