Island Shakespeare Festival – Comedy of Errors

August 18, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm

The Island Shakespeare Festival is a three-month-long celebration of the works of William Shakespeare and the acting craft.

Throughout the summer, Whidbey Island’s first repertory theatre presents works by Shakespeare and from other playwrights as well. One evening you may go to see a play by Shakespeare, the next, a play by another great writer.

Tonight’s presentation is the “Comedy of Errors.”

2017 Productions:

  • Hamlet – Shakespeare explores corruption, revenge, and morality as the Prince of Denmark wrestles with the death of his father, his uncle’s assent to the throne and subsequent marriage to his mother.
  • The Comedy of Errors – Mistaken identity, slapstick humor and puns mark one of Shakespeare’s earliest comedies.
  • The Seagull – As has become the custom for the festival, one non-Shakespeare production is presented each season.  2017 will feature Anton Chekov’s play about upper-class Russians at the end of the 1800’s and their pursuit of love and happiness.

Shows are Thursday through Sunday, at 6:00 p.m., with matinees at 1:00 p.m. Saturdays in August.

Admission is pay what you will.
