Learn to Needle Felt
January 20 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
NEEDLE FELTING DEMONSTRATION AND WORKSHOP
Have you always wanted to learn to Needle Felt?
Are you looking for a new, fun hobby that doesn’t take up a lot of room?
Co-sponsored by Pacific Northwest Arts School and The Island County Historical Museum
Taking Place at the Island County Museum, 908 NW Alexander St, Coupeville
Local fiber artist Kathleen Dodge-DeHaven will demonstrate the art of needle felting and how to create a sculpture or picture. She often combines multiple felting techniques with hand embroidery and machine stitching to make one-of-a-kind works of art. If you attended the 2023 Whidbey Island Fair and visited the Fiber Arts exhibition, you likely met Kathleen and saw her working on one of her beautiful felted “paintings.”
Kathleen will demonstrate for the first half hour, and then you can try it for yourself from 1:30-3 PM.
Children 8 and up are welcome to try with a supervising adult.
While you are there, you can explore the new exhibit at the museum- Fabulous Fiber Art Through The Ages, including needle-felted animals and historical items.
Admission is free, but donations are welcome.
