South Whidbey Tilth Market

July 30, 2017 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm

Vegetables at a farmers market.

More than a just a market, South Whidbey Tilth is dedicated to the growth, preservation, and understanding of quality food.  For shoppers, this means the market provides more than just food, it supplies a learning experience.  Expect the best in timely and fresh local produce along with entertainment each Sunday during the market’s season.

Performing at the Farmers’ Market this Sunday will be Sarungano, a four piece vocal and mbira ensemble which performs traditional and contemporary songs from Zimbabwe. Inspired and informed by a respected list of Zimbabwean musicians, Sarungano brings to the fore a rich tapestry of call and response that sings to the soul. Circular melodic lines from the mbira combined with the rich vocal harmonies in the Shona language create a sound-scape that is hauntingly beautiful.  At 1 p.m. join us for a class about planning your fall garden. Shop for fresh produce, locally handmade crafts, and enjoy breakfast or lunch from the Laughing Cat Café, or Ed’s Good Food. There’s plenty of parking, a children’s play area and crafts, free Wi-Fi and clean restrooms. SNAP and Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program (WIC & Senior FMNP) customers are welcome. As always, seeking new vendors.  Look for the scarecrow on Hwy. 525 at 2812 Thompson Road, Langley.
