Stanwood Camano Historic Sites Tour

Join us August 23 and 24 for a fun, self-guided tour of Historic Sites in Stanwood and Camano Island. The event is FREE and open to the public.
The annual Historic Sites Tour is a collaboration between volunteer organizations that are dedicated to preserving the history and community of Stanwood and Camano Island.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 23, 2024
10:00 am | Barnum Point County Park (at the South end of Sunrise Blvd on right)
Local Historian Tom Eisenberg will be leading a guided tour of the history of Camano Island’s newest park. Meet at the kiosk by parking lot of the park.
SATURDAY, AUGUST 24, 2024 All Sites will be open from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm
Bus Tour of the historic sites on Camano Island
9:30 am | Meet at the Camano Center to begin the historic sites tour by Tom Eisenberg
1:30 pm | Second Tour of Camano Island historic sites
Camano City Schoolhouse and Fire Hall – 993 Orchid Road, Camano Island, WA
11:00 am | Maud Hayden teaches school in the schoolhouse.
Moose Creek Logging Company will have their 70-foot-long model railroad layout open for the public to see a miniature 1930s logging community in operation.
The 1935 Ford fire engine will be on display in the Camano City Fire Hall.
Utsalady Ladies Aid – 79 Utsalady Road, Camano Island, WA The Ladies Aid will be celebrating the 100th anniversary of their building and will be serving birthday cake all day.
10:00 am | Walking Tour of the historic homes along Utsalady Road by Robin Hanks
11:00 am | Richard Hanks gives a talk on the “History of Utsalady.”

11:00 am – 12:00 pm | Walking Tour of the historic West Stanwood by Diane Anderson which ends at the Stanwood Masonic Lodge for a special tour of the Lodge.
