Years after Shakespeare’s Titus Andronicus, Aaron the Moor’s surviving son has grown up as Marcellus Andronicus, adopted into the very family his father once helped destroy. Now poised to inherit the future of Rome, Marcellus begins searching for the truth about the past that has been hidden from him.
But some histories refuse to stay buried.
A gripping Shakespearean ghost story about family, identity, inheritance, and the terrifying question of how much of our parents lives on in us.
Content Notes (Recommended for ages 12+):
Themes: racism, adoption, family dysfunction, jealousy, succession, psychological distress. Imagery: ghostly apparitions, stage violence, simulated inebration. This production includes moments of suspense, emotional intensity, and references to potentially disturbing past events.
Performances: Approximately 2 hours 15 minutes, including one 15 minute intermission.
