Deception Pass + Birding Tour

Evergreen Escapes offers tours of Skagit and Whidbey Island with multiple pickups from Seattle.  Begin the day birdwatching in the Skagit Valley, including snow geese that migrate here from as far away as Siberia!  Move on to Deception Pass State Park.  This rugged sea canyon is the break between Whidbey and Fidalgo Islands.  Walk the trails and feel nature untamed.  Lunch will be provided before moving on to explore the region’s military history.  Whidbey Island’s location made it key in protecting the Sound from a sea invasion.  Explore Fort Casey and learn how it was part of the region’s “triangle of fire.”  The views from the fort are amazing.  Oh, did we mention the lighthouse?  Then on to Greenbank Farm, which is now home to shops and a restaurant.  You’ll head back to the mainland via the Washington State Ferries, where you’ll be dropped off where you met the tour.
