Amazing landscapes featuring the rich farmland of central Whidbey Island, this federal reserve, the nation’s first such reserve, seeks to protect the cultural integrity of one of the first places Europeans and Americans settled in what would become Washington. Almost 85% of the reserve is privately owned, and features the town of Coupeville along with farms, hiking trails, hotels and B&B’s. Many like to drive the reserve and look at the farms and fields that have been in the same family for a hundred years or more. There is no entrance to this park, but the main office is located just north of Coupeville at 162 Cemetery Rd.
