The center was built in 1902 as the home of the Stanwood Fraternal Association, a group of area business owners. It was soon sold to Anton Anderson. In 1909 he sold it to the Stanwood Odd Fellows, where it was used for meetings and events. In the 1930’s it was used by Bryant Hardware for storage. Finally, in 2000, the Stanwood Area Historical Society purchased it and named it for a major donor. It has returned to its roots as a Stanwood community center.
