The Island county museum has displays on Native American life, early settlers, as well as more “modern” early 20th century life when Whidbey Island was a step or two behind the mainland. An entire floor is devoted to the Native Americans who first settled the island. More modern relics include an early 20th century doctor’s office, the island’s first telephone switchboard, and the island’s first car.
