Annual Northwest Glass Quest – February 13-22, 2026!
Isn’t it time you went on a quest? You know, searching for something elusive and beautiful, something other people want. Now is your chance with the Annual Northwest Glass Quest.
The Northwest Glass Quest returns February 13–22, 2026, marking its 17th year as a beloved winter tradition in Camano Island and Stanwood. This free, self-guided art and exploration event invites participants to search for handcrafted glass art while exploring participating local businesses and approved public spaces throughout the region.
What began nearly two decades ago as a creative way to encourage winter exploration has grown into a signature regional event, drawing visitors from across Washington and beyond. Each February, Glass Quest transforms everyday places into destinations for curiosity, connection, and discovery.
How the Quest Works
Northwest Glass Quest is open to everyone and requires no registration to participate. During the ten-day event, participants search for 3-inch plastic clue balls hidden throughout the community.
Clue balls may be lightly camouflaged but are always visible and discoverable using eyesight alone. Participants never need to move merchandise, disturb landscaping or vegetation, dig, climb, or search in unsafe or restricted areas. All hiding locations follow clear guidelines designed to protect public spaces, businesses, and accessibility for all participants.
When a participant finds a plastic clue ball, they are awarded a handcrafted glass ball, making the clue ball the key to receiving the featured art piece.
Optional clues may be shared during the event to guide exploration, though clues are not guaranteed each day. Many participants choose to wander independently, allowing curiosity and observation to guide their experience.
There is no set route, no required schedule, and no expectation to “complete” the Quest. Participants are encouraged to explore at their own pace and enjoy the journey as much as the discovery.
Celebrating Local Glass Art
All Glass Quest glass balls are handcrafted by four professional glass artists, each contributing their own distinct style and vision. No two balls are exactly alike. Some are vibrant and bold, others subtle and intricate, making each one a unique and collectible work of art.
Certificated glass balls include official documentation connecting the piece to its artist, adding meaning and provenance to each discovery.
FREE to Participate, Built by Community Support
Northwest Glass Quest is free to participate, and all are welcome to join. While no purchase or donation is required, donations are gratefully accepted and directly support the planning and production of future Glass Quest events.
All proceeds from the event are reinvested into the following year’s Quest, ensuring the sustainability and continued growth of this community-driven tradition.
