Pacific NorthWest Art School: Impressionistic & Abstract Photography

July 8, 2023 @ 8:30 am - July 9, 2023 @ 9:30 pm

  • « Explore Minus Tide at Cama Beach State Park
  • Discover Iverson Spit Waterfront Preserve »

John and Lisa Merrill return to the Pacific Northwest Art School as teachers, after honing their craft there as students in the 1990s. This fun 2-day workshop embraces the use of Intentional Camera Movement (ICM) to create action and blur in the image that lead to an impressionistic quality. John and Lisa are travel and social impact photographers, and invite students at all levels of their photography journey. No fancy camera required, even a phone camera will do if it can enable long exposures. Learn how to freeze a moving subject against a blurred background, or add energetic blur to an otherwise still photo.

Merrill Images is a member of the North American Nature Photographer’s Association and a Transformational Travel Council Ally. Enjoy this transformative workshop and learn how to infuse energy into your images.

Saturday, July 8-Sunday, July 9 (8:30am-9:30pm, including optional sunsets)
