Whidbey Art Gallery Artwalk

June 3, 2023 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

  • « Stanwood-Camano Pride Parade and Party in the Park 2023
  • Art Show opening: Brian Mahieu »

Whidbey Art Gallery artists have just switched locations within the gallery, and that means lots of new work. Come see all of it at Art Walk on Saturday, June 3 from 5-7. Many of our artists attend and it’s a great time to meet them and talk about their work. Bring a friend and take a stroll around Langley to visit other open galleries as well. Whidbey Island is teeming with talent, and our gallery on Second St in Langley is a great example. We have 5 full rooms of art and a total of 35 artists – all local.
Our featured member artist for June is Jill Kroh, who will be featuring a brightly colored, textural acrylic mixed-media sunflower series. These flowers have rhythmic golden petals & sturdy stems, & are most often nearby tossing water, distant mountains, & fluffy-clouded skies. Jill also renders gestural figurative work from readings that inspire, applying symphonies of color while embellishing & exaggerating.
We are happy to welcome guest artist Sonja Farrell who will be showing watercolor paintings inspired by moments of awe in nature. She states: “Drawn to the challenge of painting minute detail work, I have become passionate about transforming Apple Snail Shells,  an invasive species in Florida, into objects of beauty.  I love creating paintings and snail shells that share with the viewer the sense of peace and joy I feel while painting them.”
We hope to see you soon. Whidbey Art Gallery is open daily from 10-5.
