Whidbey Art Gallery September Art Walk

The Whidbey Art Gallery in Langley is happy to feature in September Deon Matzen.
Color and the rural scene are features of Deon’s oil paintings, such things as old trucks, varmints, and old buildings in rural settings. She has lived on Whidbey fifty-plus years and finds much inspiration from the surrounding countryside. Her paintings feature bright colors and are representational by design.
ARTIST STATEMENT
Operating as The Rural Gallery is what it implies. For the most part my work specializes in all things rural, old rusty trucks, tumbling barns, wildlife, and more. I love the rural scene and painting “Vanishing Rural America” is my goal. Some of the works aren’t exactly in that genre, but most are. I hope that you enjoy! —Deon Matzen
