Whidbey Gallery April Art Walk
April 1, 2023 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
FreeWhidbey Art Gallery in Langley welcomes April showers with a members’ show entitled ‘Earth’. Our artists have been happily working on a variety of pieces representing the theme with “cheers to the joy and gladness for the web of life.”
We have two featured artists this month, metal artists Johnathan and Jandellyn Ward, and pastel and oil artist, Annette Hanna. Many of Annette’s pieces are floral images with welcoming warm spring colors.
Johnathan and Jandellyn Ward’s metal panels help create an outdoor space, that otherwise wouldn’t be there. Adding colorful glass and metal flowers as everlasting arrangements is another way to spice up an area in the garden. Watch for new designs at Art Walk!
We are pleased to welcome our newest member, Jon Lyman who creates one-of-a-kind, custom fishing rods, each with its own story. He provides a wooden rack for each rod so his rods break down into 3 or 4 shorter pieces that can hang horizontally on the wall. Each rod is sold with the rack, a hand-sewn fabric case, and a metal rod tube plus a history of the silver pieces he uses to embellish the rods. He is willing to drive to the gallery with a reel and line and take any prospective customer to the water’s edge so they can try the rod before purchasing if desired.
Stop by on Saturday, April 1 from 5-7 to meet many of the artists and enjoy our creative new works. It’s April Fool’s Day, but you won’t be fooled in our expansive five-room gallery on Second St in Langley, next to Full Circle Business Center. We feature gifts, cards, one of a kind artistic creations including jewelry, pottery, ceramics, sculpture, photography, encaustic calligraphy, and paintings – something for everyone.
