The Pacific Northwest Art School presents its annual week of competitive outdoor painting en plein air, which is a French phrase that means “in the open air.”
For four days, come paint the beaches, forests, townscapes, and vistas that abound on Whidbey and Camano Islands.
Paint Out: Monday, August 17th – Thursday, August 20th, 2026, all-day painting hours, locations all around Whidbey and Camano Islands
Whidbey Plein Air Paint Out Gala and Art Sale Schedule:
Artwork Submission:
Thursday, August 20th, 4:00 – 6:00pm at Pacific NorthWest Art School (PNWAS)
Gala:
Friday, August 21st, 6:00 – 9:00pm at PNWAS, $25 for patrons, $30 at the door

Weekend Art Sale:
Saturday, August 22nd – Sunday, August 23rd, 10:00am – 4:00pm at PNWAS – FREE and open to the public

Artwork Pickup:
Sunday, August 23rd, 4:00 – 5:00pm and Monday, August 24th, 10:00am – 4:00pm
