WICA: Midday Black Midnight Blue, South Whidbey Premiere

Midday Black Midnight Blue is an award-winning independent film shot almost entirely on Whidbey Island in the summer of 2021. After premiering at the Seattle International Film Festival in 2022 and appearing at festivals around the country, the film will make its South Whidbey premiere at the Whidbey Island Center for the Arts on Friday, June 23rd. The film has been picked up by distributor Good Deed Entertainment and will have a theatrical release on June 16th, so if you miss this screening or want to catch a second viewing, look out for the title at Seattle-area cinemas!
Synopsis: Isolated in an empty house, Ian remains in grief over the loss of a woman he loved who died two decades ago. With the memory clamoring to be released, and his daily existence turning even darker, Ian will have to find a way to let her go.
Runtime: 88 minutes, Suggested rating: R (nudity, bad language)
The film stars Chris Stack (One Life To Live, Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire), Samantha Soule (Outer Banks, Godless, City on a Hill), and Emmy-winning Merritt Wever (Nurse Jackie, Severance, The Walking Dead), and Will Pullen (Greyhound). The screening will include a recorded Q&A session with the filmmakers and actors. Â The car driven by the main character in the film will be on display.
