Winter Wonderland: Deception Pass State Park

Snow?! Join us for a magical snow experience and to learn how animals in the park prepare for winter through games and crafts.
Join us at Deception Pass State Park to explore the natural world through family-based crafts, activities, games, and stories. Family in Nature programs are designed as a fun experience for the whole family. We ask that adults stay for the duration of the program and participate in activities. Let’s have fun together!
Family in Nature programs are offered outdoors, rain or shine. Please bring the clothing, snacks, and water necessary for you and your child(ren) to remain comfortable throughout the program.
Registration Information (spots are limited):
• 1 registration per family unit.
• At least 1 adult is required per 3 children who are between the ages of 2-5 years old.

9:30am – 10:00am | Parent-led activities
The first half hour of our program we have station tables set up with activities and crafts for families to work through together! We design these to be lots of fun for the kiddos and interactive for the adults. This time is also used to give families flexibility to arrive and work through the stations at their own pace. There are a few stations we always have including a reading table, a take home craft and coloring pages.
10:00am – 11:00am | Main program
The main program will usually include a game, story and lesson. Sometimes this includes walks or guided exploration. If there are any concerns about disability accommodations, please reach out to us at DeceptionPass. Interpreter@PARKS.WA.GOV and we can ensure that the program is adjusted accordingly!
