The Wonders of the Salish Sea is an environmental education program designed to awaken a sense of wonder and foster a deep connection in the Salish Sea ecosystem. The Salish Sea is one of the largest inland seas in the world. Discover the wonders of this uniquely biodiverse, yet fragile, marine ecosystem with the guidance of local marine scientists, naturalists, and environmentalists.

It will increase awareness of this uniquely biodiverse and fragile area, home to over 8 million people. By discovering a sense of awe and wonder in our natural environment, we can connect to the Salish Sea ecosystem in deep and meaningful ways. Together, we can work to protect this precious inland sea for future generations.

Many thanks to Transition Salt Spring for hosting WSS 2023 and Sound Water Stewards of Island County, WA for technical support.

Wonders of the Salish Sea takes place on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the Coast Salish peoples.
