Captain Whidbey

Possibly one of the most unique buildings in the Pacific Northwest, this hand-hewn log hotel built in 1912 is a throwback to another era.  Stepping into the lobby or walking through the restaurant and bar is like walking through a time warp.  The oldest rooms are in the main building.  There are newer cabins and still-newer rooms elsewhere on the property located at the west end of Penn Cove.  New owners have performed a gentle refresh of the property, but preserved the 100+ year-old character.  There is a small beach with a newer-style boat dock.
