Whidbey and Camano Islands

Keep it Real – Keep it Cool

Aerial view of a beach and a forest.

Keep it real
Keep it cool

Imagine a place where not one but two mountain ranges dominate the horizon.  Glacier-covered peaks feed rivers that flow into the sound and sea.  Two rural islands in that sea boast farms, forests, isolated beaches, and small towns.

Whidbey and Camano Islands are an hour north of Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. They welcome you with cool weather and wide-open spaces.

Thinking of visiting?
Stay in beach houses or cottages in the forest. You can even stay in a treehouse or “rough it” in cabins mere steps from where you set your crab pots last night.

24 Trails Off the Beaten Path

We have a great free pocket guide taking you to trails that are hidden gems not usually used by many people.  Find copies at visitor centers on the islands (list at the bottom of this page) and at many merchants, as well.  You can also look online, download the guide, download single pages, and watch videos about many of the trails.
