Things to Do

Challenge yourself or treat yourself with all the things to do on Whidbey and Camano Islands.  Outdoors enthusiasts have many parks and trails to choose from along with kayaking, boating, and cycling.  Foodies will find many fine-dining experiences as well as casual dining for that easy-going family weekend.  Art-lovers will find plenty of galleries and studios to tour and, of course, our small towns have many shops to explore.

    Fort Flagler

    Fort Flagler on Marowstone Island was the first of the three forts developed for the defense of Puget Sound as part of the Triangle of Fire.  It is now a state park and conference facility.

    Fort Worden Historical State Park

    Fort Worden Historical State Park was the third and final leg of the trio of forts known as “The Triangle of Fire.”  Located on Point Wilson north of Port Townsend, the fort is now a state park offering great insight into the history of the area.

    Forté MDA

    The Forté Art Gallery is open from 1 pm to 5 pm on Sundays or by appointment. Forte Music Dance Art provides classes in Ballet, Tap, Yoga, and Artistic Director Chris Tuohy also teaches private lessons on saxophone, clarinet, flute, voice, and keyboard.

    One electric car charging station is available in the parking lot of the Freeland China City Restaurant.
