Earth Day at Deception Pass
April 19 @ 10:00 am – 3:30 pm

Earth Day celebration this year at Deception Pass will be hosted at a beloved location in our park – West Beach! The event will mainly focus on the important role our sand dunes play in protecting our shorelines. The sand dunes found here at Deception Pass are an incredibly unique ecosystem, one of only a few of its kind in the Puget Sound. The long dune grass covering much of the sand at West Beach is actually not native to the area. This causes trouble for native plants, like yellow sand verbena, from thriving where they’re supposed to. Join in to help restore our dunes back to their native state.
