Filming at Deception Pass State Park takes advantage of the spectacular natural scenery in the gap between Whidbey Island and Fidalgo Island.
This park stretches over more than 4,000 acres at the north end of Whidbey Island, and is the most visited State Park in Washington. The dramatic landscapes include ancient forest, three scenic lakes, and 77,000 feet of saltwater coastline. Jagged rock formations stretch up from one of Puget Sound’s narrowest passageways, where the rushing currents collide in the shadow of iconic Deception Pass Bridge.
As well as natural scenery, this park also boasts 38 miles of trails, hundreds of campsites over three locations, several boat launches, a camp store, and other amenities.
Speak to the film liaison to connect with the park and get filming permission for this stunning location. You can begin filling in the state park permit application here, but the process will move faster if you are also in direct contact with the appropriate ranger or park manager.
“Important to Know”
Filming around the bridge will also require notifying the Washington Department of Transportation as much as several weeks in advance.
