Your Property Could be a

Movie Location!

Washington State has expanded funding for film production, and we expect to see many productions filmed here in the coming years. Want to get in on the action? Consider listing your property on the Reel Scout Locations Database, where Washington Filmworks staff can pull together images for film clients. There is no commitment to participate in a film production by listing your property, it simply creates the possibility!

Seeking Local Talent!

Laura Hilton serves as the Film Liaison for Whidbey and Camano Islands, acting as the point of contact between filmmakers and the community.

Washington has expanded funding for film production and expects to see more projects created in the state. If you are an island-based actor and would like to register your interest in screen work, please contact Laura with your details and a headshot or recent photo. She is creating an internal database of local actors and crew to call upon when opportunities arise.

Become a Film Ally

Are you a Whidbey or Camano local who’s interested in being involved with film? It’s fun to take part in and really rewarding to help these productions come to life. There are lots of ways to help out! You can list your home or business as an available film location, or send your headshot to the local Film Liaison if you’re an actor. Register yourself on the Production Database if crewing positions are what you’re looking for, or simply reach out to the Film Liaison to discuss other ways to get involved. Maybe you have a beautiful vintage car you’d be willing to rent out as a picture car, or a house full of interesting antiques and potential props. Maybe your business could serve a film crew in some way, or you simply know a lot of people in the community and would like to volunteer to reach out to locals when we’re seeking a particular thing. There’s a lot of problem solving involved with making movies and TV come to life, and the more local knowledge the better! Reach out to the Film Liaison if you’re up for helping on future projects in some way.

Testimonials from Locals

“We are still reaping the benefits of David Bromstad’s “My Lottery Dream Home” filming on Whidbey a number of years ago. They shot a few segments on my lavender farm, I also got a selfie with David, which he knew, but I didn’t, that it would prove valuable. They were a delight to work with, the crew was really friendly and efficient, and the headliner, David, was a hoot. It was fun and the time, and the surprising thing is that all these years later people still like or comment on that selfie that I had posted on social media. People come into the shop and say they saw the farm on a rerun of the show and are thrilled to meet us. It was a gift that keeps on giving.”

Sarah Richards, Lavender Wind Farm

“It was incredible getting to work with the team and watching Jacob live out a dream. I am so proud of everything he accomplished. And the whole team was so professional and kind with him. You can really see the level of skill in their work.”
