Los Angeles food fans were treated to the secrets behind several of Whidbey Island’s restaurants lately, even pulling chefs off the line to get their thoughts!
And, the theme running through the interviews was fresh and local, telling the Los Angeles audience about embracing the idea of keeping food fresh and local, and the menu changing to fit what’s available.
The SoCal Restaurant Show (KLAA AM830 – Saturday mornings) host Andy Harris was on Whidbey Island as part of the recent food-writer’s tour, and he talked with The Orchard Kitchen’s Vincent Natress and The Oystercatcher’s Tyler Hansen, and in a second show, TK of the Roaming Radish.
Chef Vincent talked about how he, “tries to express what it’s like to be on Whidbey Island,” through the ever-changing menu.
